J. Ross Jurow, an Associate of the firm, has experience in a range of matters, including custody, spousal support, child support, and equitable distribution. Prior to joining the firm, he served for over two years as an Assistant Law Clerk in a Matrimonial Part in Kings County Supreme Court. He also served within the largest Mental Hygiene Part in New York, which provides him with a unique understanding and sensitivity towards mental health and substance abuse issues. As a law clerk, Mr. Jurow utilized creative approaches to settling difficult cases and drafted decisions in complex custody and high net worth divorces. These experiences provide him with distinct insight into judicial decision making in the matrimonial field.

During law school, Mr. Jurow interned at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in its Rackets Bureau, where he participated in investigations involving cybercrimes, terrorism, and cryptocurrency frauds. He also spent a semester as a legal extern at the Office of the General Counsel at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, where he worked on public health policy and healthcare litigation. Mr. Jurow also served at Emory’s Barton Child Law and Policy Center, where he helped to advance and protect the rights of at-risk children in the Atlanta area.

Mr. Jurow received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Lafayette College in 2017, where he was an EXCEL Scholar. His research focused on the influence of politics on the United States Supreme Court. He wrote a thesis titled “Litigating War: The Supreme Court, Originalism, and the War on Terror.” He received his J.D. with honors from Emory University School of Law in 2020.

Mr. Jurow was born and raised in NYC. His passion for family law developed from his father and his grandmother, each of whom built a legacy in the New York City legal community. When he isn’t zealously advocating for our clients, Mr. Jurow enjoys trying new restaurants in Manhattan and watching his beloved New York Knicks.
